  • Founding Director, Centre for Project Management Excellence (From May 2011) and Director, Project Management (July 2005 to April 2011) and Acting Director (Jan-Jul 2005). 
    • Designed and implemented a new two-tier Project Management Certification (PMC) from 2007 
    • Won the “Distinguished Contribution of an Organization” Award presented by the Project Management Institute – Southern Alberta Chapter, June 2007.
    • Negotiated a contract with Sharif University of Technology and National Iranian Oil Company to offer University of Calgary’s M.Eng. degree in Project Management and inaugurated the program in Nov. 2005 and completed in May 2007.

    • Negotiated a contract with Sharif University of Technology and National Iranian Oil Company to offer University of Calgary’s M.Eng. degree in Project Management inaugurated the program in Sept. 2009 and completed in Nov. 2012. 
    • Negotiated a contract to offer an advanced diploma program in Project Management and M.Eng. in Project Management in Mumbai, India in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra, India.
    • Secured a dedicated office space for “Project Management Specialization” and renovated the space in 2009.
    • Re-established the Project Management Advisory Council in 2007
    • Organized the highly successful and well attended "Project Management Research Exposition" in November 2005. 
    • Published a "book of abstracts" of Project Management papers in Nov. 2005
    • Worked with Schulich School of Engineering and Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE) and provided input to add Project Management to the access expansion, which was a success as Project Management, was given significant funding for expansion in April 2006.

    • Developed a Novel Design Module and Competition for third year Civil Engineering, University of Calgary and successfully implemented using real projects in 2004/05 (New Alberta Children’s’ Hospital) and 2005/06, 2006/07 (Peter Loughead Expansion), and 2007/08 (Truck Stop).

  • Representative on behalf of the office of Vice-President (Research) for “Engaging India: Connecting Academy and the Industry” conference organized by Shastri Institute, June 2012.
